Pretty simple in 5A. Northview versus West/lovett winner. These are the only 3 teams who could compete in 6A

    1. It's Northview vs. the field in my estimation. No one in AAAAA has given any signs that they can hang with the titans. Westy did go on a run to make the last one close, but with Berry and others returning, the road to the "ship" goes through Johns Creek

  2. Not sure who watcher is, but he (along with a few others) is trying to create this myth of Northview superiority. NHS is a solid team, along with Westy, Lovett and perhaps a couple of teams peaking at the right time. Another poser masquerading as a Northview faithful trying to stir the pot....probably to get their own kids fired up. Whatever works for you!

    1. Not a member of the "Northview faithful." I just watch, hence the name.

    2. I realize you are not the "Northview faithful," hence the "...poser masquerading as..." statement above. Back to lacrosse, it's probably a 4 team race but you never know. Kids are kids, and anything can happen.

    3. Masquerading how? I never claimed to be a member of the "faithful."

  3. Totally agree with What???? Including Berry shows the lack of knowledge of NV's team. Berry wasn't last year or this year a big part of their offense.

  4. That's not a "Berry" nice thing to say!

  5. Expect at least 7 goals to be scored during these playoffs. I would also guess that at least one team will have a player who is right handed.

  6. There does seem to be an imaginary dividing line between the top three teams and the rest of the pack. But, as someone else offered, these are kids and it's the playoffs.

Here are my picks to advance to the quarter finals. Sorry, no upsets.

    Lovett over Riverwood (duh)

Marist over Cambridge (should be close, but the War Eagles have home field)

GACS over Pius (looks like maybe GAC's best team yet)

Westminster over Pace (wake me when it's over)

Northview over Benedictine (welcome to Georgia, Cadets!)

Allatoona over McIntosh (close, but home field helps Toon, plus McIntosh will have to ride a school bus halfway across Georgia)

HIES over Pope (Squeeker. I'm tempted to pick this as the upset of the first round. Even though the Greyhounds are coming off a five game skid, the losses came against five of the tougher teams in the state, 6A and 5A. But HIES put together a strong season an has home field advantage).

Decatur over BT (This will be a battle, but another example of the tougher non-region schedule paying off down the stretch. BT may be the best fourth seed in the tourney, but Decatur could be the best 11-7 team in 5A.)
